The Southern Highlands has some of the best public and private gardens in Australia, attracting hundreds of visitors to the region every Spring.

The Corbett Gardens

Open year-round, this beautiful garden is the home of the much-loved Tulip Time Festival. Sadly, Tulip Time had to be cancelled this year due to COVID-19, but you can still visit these lovely gardens. There’s plenty of space to wander around, plenty of seating and plenty of parking in the surrounding streets. Spring is definitely the best time to visit when you will be welcomed by a wonderful array of colours and can see the famous tulips in full bloom. Most visitors spend around thirty minutes here.

Leighton Gardens

This small park is close to the middle of Moss Vale and has a gorgeous display of tulips during Spring. Perfect for a family picnic, there are toilets, BBQ facilities and plenty of shade and seating. The bakery across the road is perfect to stock up on pies, sausage rolls and other goodies for lunch or a snack.

Spring Open Gardens

While COVID-19 has seen a reduction in the number of private gardens participating in this year’s Spring Open Gardens, there are still plenty of stunning country gardens for you to explore. Most gardens are open between 10am and 4pm, but make sure you check individual listings as times can vary slightly. A small fee is charged for some gardens.

Southern Highlands Botanic Gardens

The Southern Highlands Botanic Gardens are open every day and are a wonderful community facility for all ages. With beautiful gardens and trees, a playground, sculptures, a nursery, a meadow labyrinth and an education centre in the planning, there is plenty to keep visitors occupied.

If you are thinking of visiting any of the Southern Highlands Gardens mentioned in this post, it’s a good idea to check online for the latest updates beforehand.
